Restoring Mind Body and Spirit

Modern living places a variety of stresses on our bodies that can result in physical discomfort. I specialize in achieving natural, healthy relief from pain, discomfort and emotional blocks using a variety of methods.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, physical problems result from blockages in the flow of energy or “chi” in the body. I use different techniques to help you to release
these blockages, so you can eliminate the causes of pain and discomfort.

QUESTIONS ABOUT REIKI:

Q:  What is a Reiki treatment?
A: Reiki treatment is a "laying on of hands" - an ancient technique common
to many spiritual traditions. To ensure the safety of the client as well as the
practitioner, Reiki treatments should be administered only by a person fully trained
and certified in Reiki techniques. In a typical Reiki treatment, the client lies down
(fully clothed) on a treatment table.
Energy is transferred to the client through the hands of the practitioner
who moves through a sequence of standard hand positions.
Treatment starts with the practitioner's hands lightly resting on or above the
client's head for 3-5 minutes, slowly and systematically repeating this process
down to the feet. A full treatment usually takes about an hour.
A Reiki treatment is a spiritual practice working directly with energy,
or "spirit." A Reiki treatment does not involve any pressure or manipulation
of tissues as with a massage.

Q:  How does Reiki energy feel?
A: People feel Reiki in different ways. Often during a treatment the energy is
experienced as warmth. Some feel a mild tingle, as when an arm or leg
has "fallen asleep." Others feel a throbbing or pulsing sensation.
Most people don't feel any physical sensation but describe mental or
emotional changes, such as a sense of calmness or peacefulness.
Nearly everyone experiences a Reiki treatment as deeply relaxing.

Q:  When to have a Reiki treatment
A: Reiki is  effective when applied after a trauma be it physical injury, mental
or emotional shock. At these times the body is using all available energy to stabilize
the immediate problem so that long-term healing can occur. Any extra energy
available will speed up the process.

Reiki can also be used for everyday wellbeing.
It is important to remember that because Reiki works on an energy level
it can aid physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual healing.
Many people also use Reiki as a preventive practice.

  Q:  What are Flower Essences?
A: Flower Essences  work on the mind, body and spirit and are obtained by extracting the healing vibrational quality from the most evolved part of the plant - the flowers. They work on an emotional level, harmonising negative feelings and belief patterns, held in the subconscious mind.

Q:  Are they safe to take?
A: Flower Essences are completely natural. They are perfectly safe, free from side effects and are self adjusting to the needs of the individual taking them.  Brandy is added to the Bush Essences as a preservative agent although the alcohol content in a dose is infinitesimal.

Q:   How long have they been around?
A: For thousands of years Australian Aborigines have used flowers to heal emotional imbalances and physical injuries.

Questions about Australian Bush Flower Essences:
Questions about Aromatherapy
Q:  How do essential oils work?
A: Essential oils enter the body in several different ways. They are absorbed through the skin passing into the circulatory system. They can also be inhaled, passing into the blood stream through the lungs or by causing signals to be transmitted through the nervous system directly into the limbic system of the brain. Smelling or diffusing the oils into the air is a basic way to transmit the oils. Massage is also a very popular method of working the oils into the body, but here a fixed oil is needed.

Q:  What is therapeutic blending?
A: Most of the time when discussing blending, it is in reference to perfume making.
However, where perfume blending is mostly concerned with the final resulting scent, therapeutic blending focuses on creating a blend that will aid with a particular emotional or physical condition. It concentrates more on the final result than on the aroma of the blend.

Q:  Is Aromatherapy oils safe to use?
A: Concentrated oils are very strong, and your practitioner should be aware of any medical condition you have to ensure appropriate blends are used.
This is particularly true during pregnancy, with blood pressure issues and certain other conditions.

Q:  What does treatment involve?
A: You will have an initial consultation with your therapist to discuss your lifestyle, general health and any specific health issues you may have. You can be assured that all information given by you during your consultation is strictly confidential.

A plan of treatment will then be agreed followed by the blending of essential oils to be used during your massage treatment.
